Drake’s Latest Wrist Candy Comes Straight From… The Queen?

Drake recently took to Instagram to showcase his new acquisition - And it’s a doozy - the Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse.

The watch was said to be worn by Queen Elizabeth II in 1984. As shown in the photo below, that looks exactly right (you can also read our story on the Watches of the British Royal Family).

The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse (ref. 3609/1 A) case measures in and 34mm and is made of solid white gold. Although, unlike the more traditional model, Drake’s is rumored to have left the factory with 36 diamonds fastened to the bezel. The watch also included a solid white gold bracelet. I mean, really though, what else would you expect from the Certified Lover Boy himself?

“Finally the Ellipse is getting some love!”

- John Reardon (Collectibility Founder)

The Canada born rapper is no stranger to Patek. He’s recently shown off his 1 of 2 Virgil Abloh customized Nautilus that turned heads in the industry.

Further, he oddly wore a fully Diamond encrusted Patek to a Hublot event in Miami - a move that left enthusiasts scratching their head, but also showing some respect for the ballsy move. Additionally, many noticed the rapper court side with the Diamond-set nautilus 5711 green dial.

Either way, Drake is no stranger to Patek Philippe. And in a world dominated by Nautiluses - of which he has half a dozen (at least) it’s nice to see other Patek models get some love.
