One month ago, the jury in Johnny C. Depp, II v. Amber Laura Heard rendered its verdict, finding That Heard's defamed Depp, awarding him $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages (although the court reduced the punitive damages to $350,000 due to a limit under Virginia law). The jury also awarded Heard $2 million in damages from Depp due to defamatory comments made by Depp’s attorney, Adam Waldman.

Many fans have taken this civil award as vindication for Depp, who had been ostracized by many in Hollywood after Heard’s allegations of domestic abuse were made public. Indeed, he was dropped by from the third Fantastic Beasts film (a Harry Potter vehicle) as well as being left out of a new Pirates of the Caribbean film. Perhaps the decision will allow us to see Jack Sparrow once again grace the big screen. Either way, Depp is an eccentric personality, with an eccentric taste in fashion and even watches. Let’s take a look at 7 of the watches in Depp’s collection.

Johnny Depp’s Cartier Watches

While Depp has some unique watches in his collection, he also has some classics. It doesn’t get much more classic in design than Cartier. One of the pieces that Depp has been spotted in multiple times over the years is the Cartier Ballon Bleu. The Ballon Bleu is unique for its circular dial that is cut out for the crown and crown guard. Depp has the larger 42mm variation on a leather strap (though the watch is also available on a steel bracelet). The 42mm Cartier Ballon Bleu on leather strap retails for $6,400 directly from Cartier.

Depp’s taste in Cartier extends beyond his modern Ballon Bleu. One of the more interesting piece he has been spotted in is the vintage Cartier Tank Cintree Dual Time. This watch is not your ordinary Cartier Tank. It has two movements, two dials, and two crowns. This allows the wearer to set two different times on the watch at the same time. Not many of the steel variations of this watch are available for sale, and I was unable to find the piece with the exact same dial configuration. It is still a very unique piece that you don’t see often.

Johnny Depp’s Rolex Submariner Watch

You won’t find Johnny wearing a Rolex very often, but if you do he’ll likely be wearing his Rolex Submariner date. Pictured in 2014, this is perhaps the only time Depp has been photographed wearing a Rolex. This classic Rolex Submariner Ref. 116610LN will cost you between $10,000 and $12,000 USD on the secondary market.

Johnny Depp’s Corum Bubble Watches

The fact that Johnny Depp has not one, but two, watches from lesser known Swiss luxury brand Corum, makes you think that he knows something about watches. Depp has been spotted in two pirate-themed watches (makes sense for Jack Sparrow). The first is a Corum Bubble Skull watch. This piece, limited to just 188 pieces, comes on a 47 mm stainless steel case with black PVD treatment. The watch also has a quite ornate skull on the dial. You can pick up this interesting piece for $5,000 USD on the secondary market.

Depp has another Corum that also fits his Pirates of the Caribbean persona. Depp has been spotted wearing the Corum Bubble Privateer. This piece has a skull wearing a pirate’s bandana and two crossed swords on the dial. The watch is stainless steel and also has diamonds on the dial. Limited to 250 pieces, you can find this watch for around $3,300 USD on the secondary market.

Johnny Depp’s Vintage VDB Watch

One of the more interesting pieces Johnny Depp has worn is his VDB watch.VDB stands for “Vintage Daily Beaters” (a daily beater is a watch that you can wear every day), although these watches aren’t truly vintage. VDB was started in 2007 by Stephan Obst and has created custom, handmade timepieces ever since. It seems that VDB has made watches for numerous Hollywood stars ever since. Depp’s piece is interesting, especially since it has the name of his two children, Lily Rose and Jack, as well as his own, on the strap. Perhaps the watch was a gift given to him by his two children. VDB does not have prices on their custom (or serial) watches on their website, but you can learn more about them at vintage-vdb.com.

Johnny Depp’s Juvenia Watch

The final watch I am featuring from Depp’s collection is a true vintage piece. Depp has been seen wearing the aptly-named 1960s era Juvenia Architect. The watch has also been referred to as the Protractor or the Sextant. The watch features protractor on the dial, as well as unique hands. Depp was photographed wearing this watch on the cover of Esquire in 2008, and it has become a vintage collector’s hit ever since. Though these vintage pieces are pretty rare (they weren’t very popular when originally released), you can find them for sale in the secondary market for between $3,000 and $5,000 USD.
