Conor McGregor's Watches - From Rolex to Patek Philippe and Jacob & Co.

We’ve covered the watches of Sylvester Stallone, a man perhaps most famous for playing a boxer. We thought it also made sense to look into the expansive watch collection of Mixed Martial Artist and occasional boxer, Conor McGregor. McGregor has been a well known watch collector for many years and his collection seems to really run the gamut. From loud pieces like the Jacob & Co Astronomia Tourbillon that match his large personality to more traditional Rolexes and Patek Philippes, it appears McGregor has it all.

Conor McGregor’s Jacob & Co. Watches

McGregor has a clear affinity for Jacob & Co.’s avant-garde, large, and diamond-encrusted pieces. McGregor has been seen flashing one of my favorite Jacob & Co. pieces, the Astronomia Tourbillon. The exact model in Conor’s collection is the Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette. This watch has a total of 342 invisibly set, baguette-cut diamonds on the dial and 80 diamonds on the lugs”. In sum, the piece has a total carat weight of about 16.8 carats. Not only that, the watch features a unique and technically complicated four-arm vertical movement and triple-axis tourbillon. Not only is this piece “blinged out” but it is a complicated finely-crafted timepiece. This piece retails for around $1.3 million USD.

This isn’t the only Jacob & Co. piece owned by McGregor. He also was spotted wearing a Jacob & Co. Astronomia “Casino.” This cool piece features many of the hallmarks of McGregor’s Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette, including the tourbillon four-arm vertical movement. However, it also includes a unique working roulette wheel in the dial. You can always expect Jacob Arabo, Jacob & Co’s founder, to add a unique twist to his Astronomia line. The Astronomia Casino is limited to just 18 pieces and retails for $620,000 USD.

McGregor has also showcased his extremely rare Jacob & Co. Rasputin Diamond Erotic Minute Repeater watch. One of only five pieces made, and covered with 30 carats of diamonds, this piece retails for close to $2 million USD. When the wearer presses the the “Rasputin” lever on the left side of the case lightly, three baguette-set rubies are revealed. When the wearer releases the lever, a theater curtain opens to reveal a still-life hand-painted couple engaged in an explicit sexual act. Quite the risque watch indeed.

McGregor’s Jacob & Co. watches are not limited to the ultra-expensive pieces. Indeed, he was also spotted wearing the sporty and more reasonably priced Epic X Chronograph in green. This piece comes with a rubber strap and retails for $26,000 USD.

Conor McGregor’s Rolex Watches

McGregor is by no means a one brand man. His collection is interesting and diverse, and includes quite a few Rolexes. Based on our watch spotting, McGregor seems to gravitate towards two Rolex models in particular, the Daytona and the Day-Date.

McGregor’s Rolex collection includes one of the watch community’s favorites, the Rolex Daytona in gold with green dial (also known as the “John Mayer” Daytona). This piece has been a fan favorite ever since John Mayer said that the Ref. 116508 was “a steal” during an interview. This piece is definitely no longer a steal, given the current state of the watch market. While the “John Mayer” gold Daytona retails for $36,650 USD, it is currently selling on the secondary market for around $100,000 USD.

The other Daytona from McGregor’s collection we will highlight is his gold Daytona Ref.116588TBR “Eye of the Tiger”. Rolex is known to make only a few really blinged out pieces, one of them being the Daytona Rainbow Ref. 116595RBOW, and the other being the Daytona “Eye of the Tiger” (you can see Ronaldo’s Rainbow Daytona here). The Daytona “Eye of the Tiger” is not for everyone, with its diamond-set bezel and diamond-encrusted tiger-stripe pattern dial. But if it is your cup of tea, you can purchase one on the secondary market for north of $200,000 USD.

If you like McGregor’s green dial “John Mayer”, chances are you will like his rose gold Rolex Day-Date with green dial. While this piece, Ref. 228235, trades in the yellow gold of the Daytona for an everose, and a bright green dial for an olive green dial, it is still quite the stunner. Retailing for $39,250 USD, it will cost you $80,000-plus USD to get your hands on one in the grey market.

As you can tell from some of his other choices (including his Jacob & Co. pieces and his Daytona “Eye of the Tiger”) McGregor is a fan of watches with diamonds. His collection includes this 36mm yellow gold Day-Date with green ombre dial and factory-set diamonds on the dial, bezel and bracelet. Rolex does not publish the retail price for this particular piece, but you can buy your own on the secondary market for around $140,000 USD.

Conor McGregor’s Patek Philippe Watches

No serious watch collector’s collection is complete without a Patek Philippe. Well, McGregor has quite a few Pateks, so I will discuss some of my favorites. With the Nautilus being the current talk of the town due to the $6.5 million USD sale of the Tiffany Blue Nautilus, one has to wonder what Nautiluses McGregor owns. Perhaps my favorite from his collection is his Patek Philippe rose gold Nautilus chronograph Ref. 5980/1R-001. McGregor has been pictured numerous times wearing this piece, and for good reason. It is quite the stunner but it will cost you more than $280,000 USD on the market.

Another of McGregor’s Nautiluses is a piece that fellow watch collector Sylvester Stallone has in his collection, the two-tone Nautilus chronograph 5980/1AR (Stallone also has the 5980/1R as well). This piece is currently available on the secondary market for around $170,000 USD.

The final two Pateks I will feature from McGregor’s collection are not from the Nautilus line. The first is the 42mm Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph “Weir & Sons” Edition Ref. 5905P-014, which is limited to only 25 pieces. Further, the green dial color, pays tribute to Ireland, the country in which Weir & Sons, an authorized dealer of Patek Philippe (and Rolex), is located. It makes sense that McGregor, who is Irish himself, would have this piece in his collection. The retail price on this piece is $98,000 USD. With the watch being so rare it is hard to find a market price on the piece. The similar green dial Ref. 5905/1A-001 currently is selling on the secondary market for over $150,000 USD (though it is nowhere near as rare is McGregor’s piece).

The final piece I will feature from McGregor’s Patek Philippe collection is the beautiful Patek Philippe Calatrava Skeleton Ref. 5180/1R. Unlike almost any other Patek Philippe timepiece, the Caltrava Skeleton has a skeleton dial with fully exposed and decorated movement. It really is a sight to behold. What I love about this timepiece, first introduced in 2017, is that it is so unlike anything else Patek Philippe offers. Good on Patek Philippe for doing something different.

Conor McGregor’s Audemars Piguet Watches

Update: August 20, 2022

While McGregor has often been spotted wearing brands such as Jacob & Co., Patek Philippe and Rolex, you’d be hard-pressed to find him wearing an Audemars Piguet. That is, until now. McGregor posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing a new piece (well not a new model), the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Ref. 26400SO. This piece, no longer produced by AP, has an attractive “panda” dial with “Méga Tapisserie” dial pattern (the largest of Audemars Piguet’s dial patterns). As far as we can tell, this was the first time Conor has showcased an Audemars Piguet. We thought that made it worthy of an update. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Ref. 26400SO currently is available on the secondary market for around $30,000 USD.
