Wren x Ben's Watches Return With the Diver One Obsidian
In 2025, the Wren x Ben's Watches Diver One Magma became the fastest-selling Wren release to date, with its 100-piece run disappearing almost immediately and even reaching around $1,600 on the secondary market. The collab clearly struck a chord with collectors, not as an investment piece, but as a watch that people genuinely wanted to wear and hunt down.
The follow-up is here. The Wren x Ben's Watches Diver One Obsidian takes the same Diver One platform that underpinned the Magma and reimagines it with a stealth, blacked-out aesthetic and a sharper focus on in-person releases.
From Magma to Obsidian
The Obsidian name builds directly on the story that started with the Diver One Magma. Obsidian is the volcanic glass formed when lava cools and turns into rock. In watch form, that evolution translates to a darker, more tactical personality that still keeps the core design language collectors loved.
Diver One Obsidian stays with the successful dial concept and black lume that defined the Magma, but wraps them in a black DLC stainless steel case and matching black DLC bracelet. The result is a watch that feels stealthy at a glance yet remains visually dynamic on the wrist, especially when paired with its included fitted orange FKM rubber strap.
Diver One DNA, New Mood
Mechanically and proportionally, the Diver One Obsidian is very much a Diver One. It is powered by the Sellita SW200 automatic movement and retains the same dimensions as the standard Diver One:
41mm case diameter
47mm lug-to-lug
13.3mm thick
200 meters of water resistance
The fitted orange FKM rubber strap is a key part of the package. Many Diver One owners gravitate toward FKM rubber for its comfort and durability, and the Obsidian strap continues that tradition with high-grade material and a case-integrated fit that feels like a natural extension of the watch rather than an add-on.
The first 100 Diver One Obsidian watches are individually numbered, priced at $1,195. Future batches are possible depending on demand, but none are currently in production, making this initial run the only confirmed allocation.
How the Watch Will Be Sold
The Diver One Obsidian will be released in three stages:
The first 30 watches will be sold in person only at Wind-Up Watch Fair Chicago from July 10 through July 12.
The second 20 watches will be sold in person only at the Time+Tide Discovery Studio in New York City on July 13.
The final 50 watches will be sold online starting July 14.
This approach gives collectors in Chicago and New York the first opportunity to buy the watch in person before the remaining inventory is released online.
Collectors who want to be the first to know when the Diver One Obsidian goes live online can sign up here: Wren Diver One Obsidian.
In-Person Only Extras
Wren and Ben's Watches have also created a run of 50 Obsidian launch hats to accompany the release. The hats are black and feature WREN on the front and the Wren bird logo on the back, both rendered in the Obsidian orange that ties into the watch's accent color.
These hats are reserved exclusively for the 50 customers who purchase the Diver One Obsidian in person, either at Wind-Up Chicago or at the Time+Tide Discovery Studio. There is no hat allocation for online buyers, adding another layer of incentive for collectors who want to experience the launch face-to-face.
