Wren and Time+Tide Paint the Town Red with the Diver 38 Crimson NYC Studio Edition

Wren Watches is introducing the Diver 38 Crimson, a Time+Tide NYC Studio Edition that celebrates the brand’s first dedicated retail home in New York City. Born from a chance meeting at Dubai Watch Week and developed specifically for Time+Tide’s SoHo Discovery Studio, the Crimson takes Wren’s compact Diver 38 platform in a richer, more expressive direction with a matte red fumé dial, deep red ceramic bezel, and a studio exclusive production run.

While Wren has already been available through the Time+Tide NYC Studio for the past several months, the Diver 38 Crimson marks the first model created specifically for the partnership. For a New York-based brand, building a watch directly around its first physical point of sale in the city feels like a meaningful next step.

The origins of the project trace back to Dubai Watch Week, where Craig Karger, founder of Wrist Enthusiast and Wren Watches, crossed paths with Time+Tide founder Andrew McCutchen over breakfast. Karger happened to be wearing an unreleased red-dial Diver 38 prototype, and the watch immediately sparked a conversation. It was this specific watch, its compact proportions, balanced stance on the wrist, and overall quality, that not only inspired the eventual Crimson edition, but also convinced McCutchen that Wren would be a natural fit for the then upcoming Time+Tide Discovery Studio in New York. In other words, the Diver 38’s design and proportions did as much to secure Wren’s place in the studio as any formal pitch.

That early conversation has now materialized as the Diver 38 Crimson, launched following a kickoff event at the Time+Tide Discovery Studio in SoHo. More than simply another colorway, the watch reflects Wren’s continued expansion into physical retail and the importance of having the watches experienced in person, particularly in New York City, where the brand is based.

More than a new colorway

The Crimson represents a more expressive take on the Diver 38 without moving away from the formula that made the collection compelling in the first place. The watch retains the balanced proportions and everyday versatility that define the line, but introduces a more dramatic visual personality through its color and finishing.

The matte red fumé dial fades to black at the perimeter, creating depth without relying on gloss or excessive reflectivity. Paired with the deep red ceramic bezel insert, the overall effect feels bold and distinctive, yet still grounded enough for daily wear.

That tension, between compact utility and a more emotional, color driven presentation, is what makes the Diver 38 Crimson especially effective. It feels like a natural extension of the platform rather than a departure from it, and a fitting expression of the design that helped open the door to Wren’s presence in the Time+Tide NYC Studio in the first place.

Specifications

The Wren Diver 38 Crimson measures 38mm in diameter, 10.7mm thick, and 45mm lug-to-lug. Inside is the ETA 2892 automatic movement, visible through a display caseback and fitted with Wren’s custom skeletonized rotor in the shape of a Wren bird.

Like the broader Diver 38 collection, the Crimson will be offered in both date and no-date configurations. Each watch comes fitted on a bracelet and includes the buyer’s choice of either a red or black FKM rubber strap, giving owners the option of a more tonal or more understated look.

Availability

The first 30 watches are available immediately through Time+Tide online and at the Time+Tide Discovery Studio in SoHo, New York. While the Diver 38 Crimson is not positioned as a limited edition, production will remain controlled, with the first 100 examples individually numbered.

The Diver 38 Crimson is available exclusively through Time+Tide and will not be sold directly through Wren Watches or Wrist Enthusiast channels.
