THE JUICE:
These watches are made with ghosts - ghost nets, that is. Bracenet specializes in removing ghost nets - fishing nets that are abandoned by fishing rigs - from oceans worldwide and upcycling them into fashion accessories. For this collaboration, Bracenet gathered numerous ghost nets and heated them up. As they cooled back down, they hardened into the material used for the watch dials. Oris took the material and ran with it, yet avoided using any additives or glues in the process.
The result of this ghost net upcycling is a dial full of deep blues, greens, and whites - and each dial is slightly different than its neighbor. To ensure all wrist sizes can represent the conservation efforts, Oris wisely offers the Bracenet collaboration in 36.5mm and 43.5mm diameters. With this release, Oris offers collectors the perfect blend between the tried-and-true Aquis collection and a unique new conservation effort - all at a fair price point.
