THE JUICE:

The Reverso was first created to prevent Polo players from damaging their wristwatch during play. The rectangular watch is hinged and allows the dial to be reversed and clamped back into its case, protecting the crystal and dial from impact. They weren’t initially branded as a luxury timepiece, but more practical to serve a purpose. JLC has opted to harken back to the more original dial colors from the 1930’s.

The watches come with 4 dial colors. The steel features a white dial and falls in line with one of the first Reverso’s ever created. The other three models are in pink gold, and come in a black dial, a burgundy, and a champagne dial. It’s a classy look, and when paired with the ultra-thin case at just 7.46mm, it will wear exceptionally well.

The Reverso Small Seconds is fitted with the brands manual wind Calibre 822. It beats at 21,600 VpH, and features a modest 42-hour power reserve - Quite a feat for a rectangular ultra-thin watch. The watch comes on a black leather strap and also an extra textile strap with leather flap emulating the strap a Polo Player would wear when they played in the 1930’s.

Overall, this is a solid release for the brand. It’s not a necessarily surprising release, though the art-deco style is a fun entry into the Reverso collection. It does feel like JLC is returning the Reverso to it’s roots a little bit and we love that.

How much is the Reverso Small Seconds?

Price for the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso Small Seconds is a modest $9,600 USD in steel, and $21,900 USD in pink gold. You can read more about the watch at jaeger-lecoultre.com.
