INTRODUCING: The Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph

One of the flagship collections for Swiss watchmaker ZENITH is the Defy Skyline.  The watches in this collection are the perfect blend of luxury watchmaking and sport; between game day and date night.  The brand has largely been known for it’s chronograph El Primero Collection, though more recently has really leaned into it’s stainless steel sport watch line with the Skyline.

By natural extension, you’d think that the Skyline would have already crossed paths with the El Primero Chronograph movement. Except, you’d be wrong. Though ZENITH had numerous chronograph models within the Defy 21 and Defy Extreme sublines, there was never a Defy Skyline chronograph...until now.  Introducing the ZENITH Defy Skyline Chronograph - A natural progression for the brand and it’s popular Skyline Collection.

THE JUICE:

Since 1865, ZENITH has been blazing its own trail in watchmaking.  When it comes to Defy Skyline, that is just as true as ever.  Including a unique patterned background made up of countless engraved 4-pointed stars and a 12-sided bezel, Skyline gives wearers a sporty timepiece that is also a statement piece.

With the introduction of the Defy Skyline Chronograph, ZENITH brings back the fan-favorite patterned background and 12-sided bezel.  Available in 3 colorways, the background of the dial is made up of dozens of 4-pointed stars.  This "starry sky" pattern also features a sunray reflective finish, to turn heads when the light hits it.  ZENITH will be offering the Defy Skyline Chronograph in a metallic black, silver, and blue dial.  One fantastic feature of the timepiece is that it looks like it has an integrated bracelet but it actually has a removable bracelet via a quick strap-change system. Because of this, ZENITH includes a complementing rubber strap - blue with the blue dial, black with the black dial, and green with the silver dial.

The Defy Skyline Chronograph is powered by the El Primero 3600 automatic movement - a modern iteration of ZENITH's original El Primero movement.  The original El Primero movement was created in 1969 and was the world's first automatic chronograph calibre.  Defy Skyline Chronograph pays homage to the original El Primero model by using its dial configuration, placing the date window at 4:30, and including the text "EL PRIMERO" just beneath the ZENITH logo.

If you're a ZENITH fan and you've been waiting for a Defy Skyline Chronograph, today's your lucky day.  If you're new to the Defy Skyline collections, or even to ZENITH as a whole, this watch release is definitely one to pay attention to.  At 42mm, it’s the perfect addition to any watch collection and does a seamless job of integrating what the brand’s heritage is, the El Primero, and what the brand has been up to recently.

So how much is the Defy Skyline Chronograph watch?

Price for the watches will come in at $13,450 USD on rubber strap and $13,900 USD on the steel bracelet.
