Introducing the Zenith Chronomaster Sport Aaron Rodgers Edition

Aaron Rodgers has not only won a Super Bowl and 4 MVP awards, but he has been a Zenith ambassador since 2021. But up until now, we have not seen him wear any Zenith models in which he collaborated on. With the release of the Zenith Chronomaster Sport Aaron Rodgers Edition, that has all changed. The brand has a released a 250-piece limited edition of their iconic chronograph in Jets green. I have to say, I like it quite a bit.

THE JUICE:

At first glance, seeing Zenith and Rodgers release their first limited edition collaboration in Jet green (and not Packers green) might be a little head-scratching. But, I am okay with that for a couple of reasons. Even without Rodgers, the Jets are 4-3 and squarely in the playoff hunt. From all reports, Rodgers has been progressing well from his torn achilles and might … might … be able to return in time for the playoffs. Plus, Rodgers has promised to return next season (I mean, he is 39 years old).

But the main reason I am a fan of this release, is purely aesthetic. The Zenith Chronomaster Sport Aaron Rodgers edition is just an attractive watch. Giving off Rolex Submariner “Hulk” vibes, the ceramic bezel as well as the dial are both “Jet” green. Even being a Patriots fan myself, I have to admit, the color looks damn good on this watch. In typical Zenith fashion, the chronograph subdials are multicolored. The white, silver and grey subdials are a nice contrast, but muted so as not to take away from the impact of the green dial.

Another aspect that makes this watch unique is the Arabic hour markers. They are applied and designed to look like football jersey numbers on the back of the jersey. Rodgers wore number 12 for his entire career in Green Bay, and now wears number 8 with the Jets. Both those Jersey numbers are on the dial, providing a little bit of a callback to the great passer’s career.

Inside the watch is the trusty and iconic El Primero 3600 automatic chronograph movement, which vibrates at 36’000 VpH (or 5Hz) and has 60-hours of power reserve. The watch also features the 1/10th of a second subdial for the chronographs second hand, which is always a nice little touch from Zenith. This movement is visible through the watch’s display caseback, though Aaron Rodger’s logo appears on the sapphire, partially obscuring it. Overall it’s just a great watch, and I wouldn’t have been disappointed if Zenith had instead opted to include this in their regular Chronomaster Sport collection.
