INTRODUCING: The Black Bay GMT S&G "Root Beer"

Tudor kicked off Watches & Wonders with a bang, introducing a slew of new models into their staple collections. We recently covered the Black Bay Pro released earlier this morning, but now we’ve seen an all new GMT model with the Black Bay GMT S&G - a new colorway for a fan favorite.

THE JUICE:

When the original Black Bay GMT came out in the Pepsi colorway, it quickly became the talk of the town. Not only because it had released alongside of Rolex’s Pepsi offering (the BLRO), it was in a much more affordable price bracket, and had a lot more “old world” style compared to it’s competitor. Oh, I almost forgot, it was also available to purchase when a buyer wanted it.

The new Black Bay GMT keeps alot of the old charm that the original steel model had when it was released. Except it gets the gold treatment this time. The bezel, crown, and center links are all created in a lovely yellow gold, giving the watch it’s unique “Root Beer” aesthetic.

The watch comes in three different flavors (ahem…). And by that, I mean three entirely different aesthetics based on the strap pairing. The watch will come on Fabric, Black Leather, or a Stainless Steel and Gold bracelet. All three options change the watch immensely, but I think I’m partial to the fabric - it somehow reminds me of travel, right when traveling is ramping back up again - and how fitting for a new GMT.

Overall, I feel this watch will do incredibly well for Tudor. Thank God, the Pepsi craze is starting to die down, and with the release of the new left-handed Rolex GMT-Master II in Green being the industry darling this morning, it’s fitting to see another take on a GMT that doesn’t fall into “do whatever Rolex did, but a little different”.

Price for the watch will come in at $5,300 USD on the bracelet, and $4,300 USD on the leather or fabric strap.
