THE JUICE:

IWC is known to have a close relationship with the military and aviation industries. Their Pilot’s Chronograph Top Gun edition is evidence enough of how their watch design has these industries in mind while designing their watches. Their recently released “Woodland” green colorway of the Top Gun Chronograph is no exception to this concept.

This is the first time we’ve seen this green ceramic in an IWC pilot’s watch. It’s unique, if not utilitarian in nature (no pun intended). The watch stands out, but also blends in, which I think is the aim of IWC in designing a Big Pilot Chronograph with quite a military influence. We’ve seen a number of other various colors included in the overall Big Pilot catalogue (Even recently, the Inspiration4 Chronograph, and even the “Laureus Sports for Good” Edition Pilot), but the Forest Green color seems to be the standout amongst the collection.

Sporting a 12-hour chronograph, Day and Date function, 46-hour power reserve, and 60 meters of water resistance, this watch is a useful tool for any pilot in the cockpit.

The “Woodbury” Green Ceramic color chosen by IWC is a great choice for a Big Pilot Top Gun. The added military inspired color keeps in line well with the brand’s Pilot watches.

So how much is the IWC Pilot’s Chronograph Top Gun Edition “Woodbury”?

Price for the “Woodbury” colorway will come in at $9,900 USD.
