8 Best Watches To Wear On The Golf Course

Best Golf Watches ###

I couldn’t help but flinch every time my golfing partner hit a shot during our last round. No, it wasn’t because they were playing badly, instead I was thinking about the Omega Seamaster Aquaterra taking a beating on their wrist. Mechanical watches and strong impacts aren’t always a recipe for success, and yet, we see a plethora of luxury watches on the wrists of golfer’s across the globe. In addition to the damage your watch can incur during a round, it can also get in the way of your game if it is too heavy or too big for example. To save your Rolex from inadvertently getting damaged while you golf or to save your scorecard from some extra-shots, we have put together a selection of 8 watches that will withstand the rigors of golf. This guide spans across a range of styles and price-points, so there is definitely going to be a watch for you. Let’s tee off and see what the first watch is all about.

TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 Golf Edition

The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 ‘Golf Edition’ is the obvious place to start off this guide. While I can hear some disgruntled purists complaining in the back about it being a ‘smart watch’ and not a proper luxury watch, I wholeheartedly believe that it deserves the top spot. For one, TAG clearly identified the same issue that bugged me for 18 holes. They have successfully bridged the gap between golfing and luxury watches, while delivering a timepiece that is more than functional. Further, it is probably the best execution of a luxury smart watch. As someone who has tested their fair share of smart sports watches, they can often feel flimsy and a bit cheap. TAG Heuer has really delivered on the actual execution of the piece with its titanium case and a really high-quality strap. The sizing of this watch really has golfers in mind. Offered in both a 42mm and a 45mm case, the watch works really well on any wrist, balancing legibility and user experience with wearability very neatly. The TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 ‘Golf Edition’ is a fantastic compromise between luxury watch and golfing tool. It starts at retail for $1,500 USD.

Richard Mille RM055 ‘Bubba Watson’

When money and high-performance tech are involved in a sport like Golf, Richard Mille are never too far behind. Let’s face it, their experience in Formula 1 and Tennis, where G-forces and high-impacts are abundant, make them the ideal partners for professional golfers. RM have teamed up with two-time Master’s champion, Bubba Watson, to create the ultimate high-horology golfing watch: the RM 055. RM and Bubba had previously collaborated on the RM038, an ultra-light and ultra-resistant tourbillon. The RM 055 is the next evolution of that piece, taking lightweight and shock resistant to another level. They ditched the tourbillon but increased shock resistance to 5000Gs, making it seriously touch and perfectly adapted to the rigours of Bubba’s swing. This skeletonized titanium masterpiece is probably the holy grail of golfing watches. If you have the 6-figure bank balance required to purchase this golfing watch on the grey market you should go for it. The rest of us can just keep dreaming.

Norqain Wild ONE Skeleton 39

If you loved the idea of a watch that can take 5,000Gs, but balked at the price-tag on the previous watch, the Norqain Wild ONE Skeleton 39 is the piece for you. Constructed with one goal in mind, ultra-resistance, the Wild ONE’s case can take a serious beating and has been tested up to impacts of 5,000G. The team at Norqain definitely acheived their goal. Thanks to the proprietary NORTEQ carbon fibre composite, this piece weighs just 64 grams (including the strap): there’s no way it'‘ll bother your swing. The dial and movement have been skeletonized brilliantly, giving the watch a unique and dynamic feel: exactly what you need to make you stand out on the course. This vibrant mint green colourway is just the right amount of flash, too. While Norqain definitely didn’t set out to design a golfing watch , they have made one, and a fantastic one at that. The Norqain Wild ONE Skeleton 39 Mint is available at retail for $6,150 USD.

Breitling Endurance Pro 44

The Breitling Endurance Pro 44 isn’t a golfing watch per se, but it is definitely one of the best watches on this list for a couple of reasons. I will admit to being a little biased, as this is the watch I wear to play golf and any racket sports. Firstly, it’s powered by a quartz chronometer movement, meaning that it can handle the big impacts without impacting the watch’s performance. Another feature I love is the Breitlight (carbon fibre) case. Despite the 44mm case size, it is super light and super durable, which means that I am never worried about it on the course and can barely feel it while playing. I think this white variant is really striking with its red chronograph hand and accents that really make it pop on the wrist. If this crisp colorway isn’t quite for you, then Breitling has you covered with a wide range of vibrant and sporty colors, like ice-blue or orange. Just last year, Breitling released a 38mm variant for anyone with a smaller wrist, making the Endurance Pro line the ideal watch for summer golfers and sportsmen and women. The 44mm model retails for $3,550 USD.

IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber Tourbillon Skeleton XPL

The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber Tourbillon Skeleton XPL was not designed for golfers. But it was designed for high-impact activities like supersonic flight and Formula 1, so it fits the bill. This is definitely a big piece. The 44mm case appears a lot larger thanks to the signature crown and the removable shock-absorbing bumper. The size is offset by IWC’s proprietary Ceratanium alloy, giving the watch high-performance durablity and a light weight. It is hard to ignore the tourbillon escapement that sits at the 6 o’clock position of the skeletonized dial. The skeletonized dial serves a fascinating purpose: shock-absorption. As a result, this watch can handle forces up to 10,000 Gs. Let’s face it, that’s more than enough for golfing. This watch is a fabulous alliance of high-horology and technology. If you have the 6 figure required to get your hands on one of the 100 pieces of this limited edition watch, then you should go for it: it’s going to be a fabulous pieces everywhere, not just on the golf course.

TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph

Back to TAG Heuer here with one of the gems from Watches & Wonders 2025: their latest Formula 1 Solargraph. Again, this is not a watch that is designed for golfing, but it certainly works well if you’re a golfer looking for a watch you can wear on and off the course. The quartz Solargraph movement is perfect. There’s no risk coming from the high-impacts and the time spent outside will help keep the watch fully charged for years. The 100m of water resistance means that there’s no need to sweat if it rains or if you end up in the water hazard. Aside from the quartz movement, I think that the 38mm midsize case and lightweight rubber strap are the most compelling features of this watch for a golfer. It will feel weighty but without interfering with your swing. If that’s not enough for you, the Formula 1 Solargraph is definitely one of 2025’s hottest watches. This TAG Heuer retails online and in boutiques for $1,800 USD.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Golf

Hublot is renowned for its crazy and avant-garde watches that we see on the wrists of elite sportsmen and women across the globe. Masters of materials and complications, Hublot has designed what could be thought of as the best golfing watch on the market right now in the Big Bang Unico Golf. Starting with something most of the watches on this list have: a lightweight case. Hublot has pulled out all the stops here with their white carbon and texalium (fiberglass and aluminum alloy) case. This is ultra-light and durable. There’s no way you’ll be able to feel it and it can definitely take the knocks out on course. The star of the show is definitely Hublot’s proprietary golfing movement which tracks shots, holes, and total score for you: you’ll never forget where you’re at in your round with this on your wrist. Despite this impressive complication, my favourite feature has got to be the strap, which has been designed to look like a golf glove. If all of this has convinced you to purchase this watch, it retails for $34,400 USD.

Garmin MARQ Golfer Carbon Edition

This guide is mostly about mechanical watches you can wear while golfing, not ones that try to play the game for you. But when it comes to true golf tech, I’d be remiss not to include the Garmin MARQ Golfer Carbon Edition. It’s the top-tier golf smartwatch on the market, combining Garmin’s unmatched GPS and swing-tracking software with a surprisingly premium build: forged carbon case, ceramic bezel, domed sapphire crystal, and a titanium bracelet. It’s every bit the serious tool watch, just from a different universe than the others on this list.

If you want a timepiece that’s actually designed to help you lower your handicap, with virtual caddie features, shot tracking, wind data, and course maps for over 42,000 courses, the MARQ Golfer is in a league of its own. Most mechanical watches here are built to survive 120+ mph swing speeds. This one is built to read them. It retails for $3,100 USD.
