THE JUICE:

Lets cut to the chase - The Blue Notte Panerai thing has been done many many many times before - just not in the Carbotech case. It’s been done in a Radiomir, in a Submersible, in steel, in gold, in 42mm and in 44mm. Like many other manufactures, Panerai is relatively notorious for incremental changes in simple releases. I often find myself scratching my head trying to determine where I’ve already seen the watch before, only to discover it was the same watch but slightly different. In this case, a limited edition (as is many, if not all of the Carbotech releases) model seems to scratch that itch of a their relatively staple blue dial in a Carbotech case.

Was anyone asking for this model? I’m not sure. It is a lovely addition to the collection, if arguably predictable, and I don’t see an issue with this catching on to the crowd who enjoys a more brooding watch.

Carbotech is noticeably lighter than steel, and ever-so-slightly lighter than titanium - so this watch will be superbly wearable. The white indices as opposed to Panerai’s fauxtina dials of late is a welcomed change and the color scheme simply works well all put together.

There’s no doubt that the more tactical black and blue look has its place in the industry. The Breitling “Black-Eyed Blue” certainly had enthusiasts clamoring, and I imagine the Carbotech Blue Notte will follow in a similar vein - if not a little more fragile.

How Much Is the Panerai Carbotech Marina Blue Notte?

The model will be limited to 500 pieces, only be available at Panerai.com and cost $13,900 USD.
