Al Pacino's Wristwatches

Al Pacino is widely considered one of the greatest actors of the 20th (and 21st) century. He is well known for such films as The Godfather, Scarface, and the Irishman (among many others). Pacino’s talents have earned him an Academy Award, two Tony Awards, and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, Pacino is one of the few performers to have received an AFI Life Achievement Award, the Cecil B. DeMille Award and the National Medal of Arts.

It is clear that Pacino has a true love for watches. He has been spotted over the years wearing a variety of different watches, including pieces from Rolex, Tag Heuer and Jaeger LeCoulture. Pacino even stated in an interview that he's "always loved watches." He said that as a kid “other poor kids like me were drooling at the big fat hams inside the expensive restaurants, and there was I dreaming about watches. I used to imagine myself wearing a beautiful watch, parading in front of the girls like a peacock.”

The Godfather is probably Pacino’s most well-known role. In film, Pacino plays Michael Corleone, son of Don Vito Corleone, who goes on to eventually become the mafia boss of the Corleone crime family. In 1976 sequel The Godfather Part II Pacino can be seen wearing a 14k gold Omega Constellation Pan Pie. Indeed, in the scene Michael Corleone is wearing the Omega, pictured below, he famously says “I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart!”

In the 1992 film Glengarry Glen Ross Pacino is seen sporting a two-tone Rolex Datejust. The film depicts two days in the lives of four real estate salesmen, including Pacino, and and how desperate they become when the corporate office sends a trainer (played by Alec Baldwin) to "motivate" them. Baldwin’s character tells the salesmen that, in a week's time, all except the top two salesmen will be fired.

Finally, Pacino has been spotted recently wearing a Rolex Submariner Date with aluminum bezel. This classic tool watch showcases Pacino’s taste for the classic, and less ostentatious, pieces. Undoubtedly, he can afford more flamboyant timepieces, but seems to always opt for a subdued and classic piece.
