The Watches of the Fast and Furious Franchise - The Most Exhaustive List
One of the most successful movie franchises over the past few decades has been, surprisingly, the Fast and Furious franchise. Since 2001, there have been 10 films with no end in sight. Perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising since the movies are marked by fast-paced action and cool cars. Indeed, a lot of famous actors have appeared in the films, from the late Paul Walker, to Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Jason Statham. As watch collectors we all know that an interest in cars and watches often go hand-in-hand. For that reason, I thought it would be interesting to highlight some of the watches worn by the characters of the Fast and Furious.
What watch does Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) wear?
Paul Walker rose to fame playing Brian O’Conner, an undercover cop, in the Fast and Furious series. Early on in the series, O’Conner can be seen wearing a watch, though the exact make and model is hard to pinpoint. It appears to be a very affordable Luminox Navy Seal Dive watch Ref. 3001.
However, as the series progressed, O’Conner’s wristwear improved as well. In Fast Five (2011), he can be seen wearing a Jaeger-LeCoulture Master Compressor Navy Seals Diving watch. It appears that the prop department kept with the navy seal watch theme for O’Conner’s wristwear. This piece is available on the secondary market for around $8,000 USD.
In Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Walker’s O’Conner is again seen wearing a Jaeger-LeCoulture dive watch. This time it is a Jaeger-LeCoulture Deep Sea Chronograph. This piece can be purchased on the secondary market for around $10,000 USD.
What watch does Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) wear?
Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is a former agent of the Diplomatic Security Service. Appearing first in Fast Five, Hobbs is once tasked to hunt down and capture wanted criminals Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner after they were framed for the death of three DEA agents in Rio de Janeiro. Ultimately, Hobbs decides to join Toretto and O’Conner in their heist.
Apparently The Rock, or at least his character Hobbs, is a big fan of Panerai watches. He can be seen wearing different models throughout multiple Fast and Furious films. In Fast Five Hobbs is seen wearing a Panerai Luminor Submersible.
In 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Johnson can be seen wearing another Panerai Luminor Submersible, which looks tiny on his huge wrists (and its not a small watch at 42mm).

In the course of researching another article about Oris Watches in Movies and Television, I came across a watch that appeared in the Fast and Furious franchise that I missed (I guess my watch spotting is not infallible). While I already mentioned that the Rock wears Panerais in both Fast Five and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, he also wears an Oris in Fast & Furious 6 (2013). Johnson is seen wearing a discontinued Oris ProDiver Date 1000m. You can learn more about it at Oris’s website.
What watch does Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) wear?
Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham, is a former British military officer and MI6 agent turned mercenary. Statham first appeared in Fast & Furious 6. In The Fate of the Furious (2017) Shaw can be seen wearing a Panerai Radiomir 8 Days PAM 384.
In Hobbs & Shaw, Shaw returns and is seen wearing a Rolex. The Rolex appears to be a vintage Submariner Ref. 5513 (thanks to Quill & Pad for the exact identification).
What watch does Tej Parker (Ludacris) wear?
Tej Parker, portrayed by Ludacris, is a former street racer and mechanic. He is a friend of Brian O'Conner, who allowed him to participate in races when he lived in Miami. Tej would later become a member of Dominic Toretto's Crew when he is recruited by Toretto to steal money from a corrupt Portuguese businessman, Hernan Reyes.
Tej is spotted wearing a pretty unique timepiece in The Fate of the Furious. He is seen wearing a Ritmo Mvndo Quantum 2 Red. This piece is offered in both 50mm at $1,125 USD and 43mm at $975. While these pieces are expensive, they run on a Swiss Ronda 3540.D Chronograph quartz movement.
What watch does Roman Sharp (Tyrese) wear?
Fast Nine saw the return of Tyrese’s Roman Sharp. The ex-con once again joins Toretto’s team to head to… ahem… Space. Probably not the most practical watch for the job, Roman sports a solid gold Portugieser Chronograph (Ref. IW371610). As much as I appreciate the nod to watch enthusiasts, and while it IS a Chronograph, I find the watch choice a bit puzzling for a performance driver. Even though Roman doesn’t spend a ton of time driving in the film, the watch definitely sees it’s share of action, so you can bet the gold goes from a polished finish to a matte finish by the end of the movie.
